The Fear, by Lily Allen

This is the song we worked with in our class. This website can be fun to use, since you can play the game and fill in the gaps while you listen to the song. At the end, you can check how many points you scored.

Cultural differences

These books are interesting to compare British and American culture. One of them (Notes from a Small Island) is available at our school library in case you want to take a look at it.

Stereotypes

These pictures are related to the topic we are dealing with in our classes these days. It's a funny way of approaching stereotypes. Sometimes, they could be offensive, but let's try to see them from this perspective:

Stereotypes: The Danger of a Single Story.

"The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story.”

This is a quotation by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the speaker of the video we watched in class when dealing with stereotypes. I would like you to listen to the rest of the talk, since we didn't have time to listen to it completely.  Our activity was based on the ten first minutes (we stopped in minute 9:37, to be precise).
