Talk on Charles Dickens: 5 pm - 6 pm (room 16)
Charles Dickens in the 21st century. February 7th 2012 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens.  But what does this Victorian author have to say to those of us living in the modern world?
In this talk we will explore the fascinating and surprising facts about the man and his times.  We will also discuss what makes his work special and particularly relevant to our world today.
The talk will be given by Brian Engquist. A native of the United States, Brian Engquist has spent the last 20 years in Madrid where he has been actively involved in the world of TEFL as a teacher, project coordinator and trainer. In his current position as a teacher trainer for Pearson he enjoys meeting and exchanging ideas with teachers and students from a variety of backgrounds and contexts all around Spain.

Gastronomic contest:  6 pm - 8 pm (Main hall/library). If you want to take part in the contest, you can bring your recipe to the staff room (sala de profesores) from 4 pm to 6 pm. After giving prizes to the winners, we will be able to taste the different dishes.
