UNIT 1: FOOD. Eating in and out.
In Unit n. 1, we will talk about food and cooking, we will revise the present simple and present continuous, and we will see the difference between action and non-action verbs. Regarding pronunciation, first we will do a general study of vowels and consonants. Later, we will focus on the difference between short and long vowel sounds.
VOCABULARY:
Go to page 224 in your textbook. Do the vocabulary activities there. Those are items about food and cooking. Check your answers here:
WRITING:
Go to page 188 in your textbook. Read the informal email on that page. Do activities a and b. Those activities will help you to identify what each paragraph is about and to use expressions that we typically use in informal emails in English.
Study the chart on the right bottom corner. There, you can find expressions to begin an email and expressions to end an email.
READING:
Next October 31 is Halloween’s day. Read this text about The origins of Halloween and do three activities about it. The answer key is after the text and the activities.
